As the government shutdown entered its second day, people across America were feeling the effect -- and lots of them wanted to tell lawmakers just how fed up they were.
Using the hashtag #DearCongress, they've weighed in on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Vine to vent to their senators and representatives. While hundreds of thousands of federal workers were placed on furlough and the business of government ground to a virtual halt with no end in sight, plenty of Americans were wondering what it was all for.
Lots of people wondered if Congress had forgotten its own job description:
While other people were just ashamed:
Then there are the people who just want to get back to work:
Some wondered what kind of example it sets for the leaders of tomorrow:
There are people who say their elected representatives will hear from them at the polls:
And others who said it was all politics:
But most people seemed to just want it all to be over:
